36 hours Waterless Fasting

Chhath Puja continue for four days, starting with Nahai-Khai and Kharna.Then Arghya is offered to the setting and rising Sun God. In this, fasting women worship Sun God by submerging themselves waist deep in the river and offering Arghya to him. In this, a waterless fast is observed for 36 hours, which is considered very difficult. According to mythological beliefs, by worshipping Chhathi Maiya, the fasting person gets the blessings of health, happiness, prosperity, and child happiness.
