Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated in India to mark the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. It is celebrated annually on 2 October, and is one of the national holidays of India.<\/p>\n

Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2<\/a>, 1869 in Porbandar in Gujrat. Mahatma Gandhi’s full name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi<\/a> later he known as Mahatma Gandhi. He completed his education and got law degree from London.<\/p>\n

After coming back to India he joined Indian National Congress<\/a>. He then started movements like Dandi March<\/a>, Quit India Movement and Non Cooperation Movement, Satya Grah<\/a> to attain freedom from Britishers, who were ruling India at that time.<\/p>\n
