Dussehra 2023

Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, Dasara or Dashain, is a major Hindu festival celebrated every year at the end of Navaratri. It is observed on the tenth day of the month of Ashvin.

दशहरा हिन्दुओं का एक प्रमुख त्योहार है। अश्विन मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की दशमी तिथि को इसका आयोजन होता है। भगवान राम ने इसी दिन रावण का वध किया था तथा देवी दुर्गा ने नौ रात्रि एवं दस दिन के युद्ध के उपरान्त महिषासुर पर विजय प्राप्त की थी। इसे असत्य पर सत्य की विजय के रूप में मनाया जाता है।

The festival is associated with the legend of Lord Rama’s victory over the demon king Ravana. On this day, Hindus burn effigies of Ravana and his brothers to symbolize the triumph of good over evil. Dussehra is also a time for family and friends to come together and celebrate.
